RICH DAD, POOR DAD
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki is a financial book that I heard about over and over before actually picking it up and reading it. Once you are recommended a book 25 times over, you better read it, right?
The book is fairly straight forward and a quick read. Robert talks about his two fathers; his biological father who is focused on formal education, stability, reliability, and structure his is the Poor Dad; his friend's father who became a mentor is focused on real world experience, life lessons, and financial intelligence is the Rich Dad.
The main theme throughout the book is to focus on building assets, minimizing liabilities, and increasing your financial fluency.
His examples of Assets are intriguing to me as we are taught that a house we live in, is an asset, but he calls it a liability since it costs us money and doesn't bring income. While this is very true on a monthly basis, house expenses are high with mortgage, utilities, and repairs. Yet, they can be an investment since if you sell it you can make a decent profit.
This is a topic to ponder and figure out how to make more passive income or at least minimally active income. Do these and then use them to fund other ventures or some of life's luxuries.
Pick this up for a quick inspirational read on finances. https://www.richdad.com/
